SOUTH BIRMINGHAM CHESS CLUB v OLTON CHESS CLUB

Olton Chess Club hosted the 21 st. annual match between South Birmingham Chess Club and themselves on Tuesday 21 August 2007 

This year, the match took place over 22 boards offering players of all strengths the opportunity to take part and represent their respective clubs.
The South Birmingham team were led by Grandmaster Danny Gormally who recently joined our club.

Brian Green was the first player to finish, giving South Birmingham its first point. The South Birmingham lead was held throughout the match giving us our 10th successive victory with a score of:  South Birmingham = 15½ and Olton = 6½.  The overall score in 21 years that the trophy has been contested is South Birmingham 16 wins and Olton 5 wins.
